Mapbox is the leading real-time location platform and seeks an Engineer for Routing Tiling. You will design, build, and operate critical pieces of the routing data pipeline, turning raw map data into production-grade routing tiles and improving freshness and latency. Remote, full-time role with 40 hours per week.

You will work with distributed systems, Rust applications, and cloud tools to deliver reliable routing data worldwide, supporting automotive partners and developers alike.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend-focused experience.
• 3+ years building Rust applications in production.
• 3+ years working with distributed systems and cloud tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core components of the routing data pipeline.
• Scale systems transforming map data into routing tiles.
• Improve data freshness and reduce pipeline latency.
• Integrate real-time traffic and map updates for accuracy.
• Ensure reliability and data quality at scale.
