Job summary

Spectra Tech, Inc. in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking a Rotordynamics Engineer (Remote) to lead testing and development of advanced centrifuge components for UF6 systems.

The ideal candidate will have deep rotordynamics expertise, experience in dynamic testing, DSP methods, and software development (Python/C++/MATLAB) to drive design improvements and production processes. DOE Q clearance is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience.
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of targeted experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in rotordynamics, dynamic testing, DSP methods, software development (Python, C++, MATLAB), and FEA (ANSYS).
• Must be able to obtain a DOE Q Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in rotordynamics and optimize centrifuge design and manufacturing.
• Lead experiments and model-based simulations to resolve rotordynamics challenges.
• Design and guide advanced test systems including data acquisition, DSP architectures and high-speed signal analysis.
• Lead dynamic testing for balancing using influence coefficient methods and experimental modal analysis.
