Job summary

University of Arizona is seeking an experienced Roofer II for the Tucson campus. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a range of roofing systems, including self-adhered, asphalt, shingles, tile, single-ply gravel, and metal roofs.

The role requires occasional after-hours work to address monsoon-related repairs. We look for craftsmanship, safety, and the ability to assess conditions, determine approaches, and make sound on-site decisions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, apprenticeship training, and relevant experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide roof maintenance and roof inspections on routine schedules.
• Repair cracked tiles and flashing; caulking cracks; patch leaks as part of Preventative Maintenance.
• Apply and repair reflective coatings; ensure safety equipment is used at all times.
• Respond to leak calls and fix issues promptly.
• Maintain and stock repair materials for several roofing systems.
• Ensure university vehicles and tools are clean and safe.
