Job summary

Pronto in San Francisco is hiring a software engineer focused on testing infrastructure for autonomous systems. You’ll design core test harnesses, build simulation and log-replay pipelines, and own CI/CD processes for robotics software deployed in field operations.

You’ll work with Python extensively, build automation across distributed systems, and collaborate with engineers to improve reliability, performance, and scalability of our autonomous haulage stack.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software engineering with testing infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Strong Python skills with production-facing code experience.
• Experience building automation pipelines (CI/CD, test orchestration, build systems).
• Familiar with APIs, abstractions, and platform usability.
• Excellent debugging and systems thinking across simulation and CI infra.

Responsibilities

• Test Platform & Infrastructure — design and build core test infra for our middleware stack.
• Simulation-Based Testing — build simulation infrastructure for deterministic playback.
• CI/CD for Robotics — maintain testing pipelines gated to code changes.
• Log Replay & Recorded Scenario Testing — convert production logs to reproducible test cases.
