Job summary

WingXpand is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Robotics) to own substantial parts of the xPAIR autonomy stack. You will be an hands-on contributor shaping shared core software and deciding what belongs in the core versus vehicle-specific code.

Expect to write the hard parts today and see them tested in the field tomorrow. Join a small team where decisions happen fast and autonomy runs on air, ground, and water platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with C/C++ in a Linux development environment.
• Depth in state estimation, sensor fusion, and closed-loop control to write or replace an estimator, filter, or control loop.
• Ability to diagnose failures from telemetry and flight logs across fielded hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robotics and autonomy software across unmanned aircraft, ground, and surface platforms.
• Implement and improve autonomous behaviors, navigation, and mission logic.
• Integrate new sensors, payloads, and perception capabilities into the robotics stack end-to-end.
• Develop software for collaborative robotic systems and multi-agent coordination.
• Make it run on the edge with embedded Linux, Jetson-class hardware, Docker, and real-time detection.
• Maintain operation under degraded communications with mesh networking and graceful failure.
• Deploy, test, and validate software on real robotic platforms and supporting infrastructure.
• Collaborate with hardware, avionics, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers.
• Lead testing, experimentation, and rapid iteration of new capabilities.
