Job summary

FANUC America in Michigan seeks a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver FANUC robot software for GSSV customers. You will gather requests and craft functional specs approved by the customer, interfacing with applications like Spot, Dispense, and Arc Welding.

You will be a problem-solver with a customer-first mindset, applying FANUC technology across integration projects, testing, and field startup support. Collaboration is key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience with body shop applications (spot welding, riveting, etc.).
• Experience with industrial robots and robot software programming (FANUC KAREL, TPP, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead software developments for key GSSV customers.
• Write detailed robot software specifications and programming guides based on customer process requirements.
• Develop robot programs written in KAREL, TPP+ and PMC.
• Develop, integrate, and validate custom application solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Support system field installation and startup of GSSV robots.
• Develop customer specific programming guides.
• Configure project software using CPQ.
• Support sales and quoting efforts as required.
• May supervise and train entry-level engineers.
• Attend project meetings with customers, engineers, and managers.

Who You Are

As our Senior Robotics Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, debugging, and delivering FANUC robot software for the customers of the Global Standards Software & Validation Group (GSSV). You will be required to gather customer requests and requirements needed for current and future projects. These requests will need to be clarified by creating a functional specification that is approved by the customer. On approval of each development, you must create an internal functional specification interfacing with applications that include, but are not limited to, Spot, Dispense, Stud, MH, SPR, Flowdrill, Tool Changers, Project Welding, Arc Welding, Vision, Collaborative Robots.

You will need to be a problem-solver with a \"service first\" (customer-focused) mindset who has experience with FANUC technology.

How It’s Done

• Lead software developments for key GSSV customers


• Write detailed robot software specifications and programming guides based on customer specific process requirements

What You Need

• Minimum of five years of experience working with body shop applications including spot welding, riveting, clinching, flow drill, dispensing, etc.


• Experience with industrial robots and/or computer-controlled automation


• Robot software programming experience (FANUC KAREL, TPP, etc.)
