Job summary

Intuitive is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Simulation & ML Platform to build platforms for simulation-based data generation and ML development in robotic motion AI. You will work with Simulation Data Scientists and ML teams on strategy, synthetic data design, and model development.

You will translate research requirements into scalable, reliable software and collaborate with multiple engineering teams to ensure reproducibility and fast iteration across the robotics stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering, robotics or related field, or equivalent.
• 5+ years in software for simulation, ML, robotics, or autonomous systems.
• Strong Python and at least one other language (C++, Java, TS).
• Experience with data-intensive apps and production-grade backend systems.
• API design, data modeling, concurrency, and distributed systems basics.
• Experience with Docker, Linux, testing, observability, and production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build software infrastructure for robotic simulations and ML platforms.
• Architect scalable pipelines for synthetic data and API/tooling.
• Develop integration/validation pipelines for simulation platforms and AI tools.
• Create AI-assisted workflows for code quality, refactoring, and CI/CD.
• Define abstractions for robot configs, tasks, sensors, scenes, and data capture.
• Provide tools for experiments headless or cloud-based execution.
• Develop GPU-enabled container environments for simulation, inference, and experimentation.
• Standardize interfaces for robot state, coordinates, actions, and safety.
• Collaborate with controls, embedded, and robotics teams to align interfaces.
