Job summary

Alexion seeks a software-focused engineer to own orchestration software coordinating lab instruments and robots into reusable workflows. You will design state models, events, and interfaces to support production-ready releases with observability and rollback.

Work with data engineers to define schemas, integrate SDKs, and deliver software that translates scientist needs into robust orchestration for rare-disease therapy development.

Qualifications

• PhD/MS/BS with relevant lab automation or robotics software experience.
• 4+ years building software for lab/industrial automation or robotics.
• Proficiency in Python, C#, or Java and event-driven/state-machine patterns.
• Experience with interfaces/SDKs and data services.

Responsibilities

• Own orchestration software components for reliable, usable control across instruments and work cells.
• Audit-ready data trails for setpoints, states and analytics outputs; align with validation/security expectations.
• Develop reusable drivers/adapters and interface modules; review code and tests for quality.
• Define schemas and event models; collaborate with data engineers for analytics/ML features.
