Job summary

1X is building humanoid robots that perform home chores and enable real-world AI. The Core team develops the C++ infrastructure used by NEO; you will shape networking for robots at scale.

The role focuses on designing and implementing reliable, low-latency networking, spanning peer-to-peer, peer-to-server, and edge-cloud interactions to support fleet operations. Qualifications

• 6+ years in network engineering, distributed systems, or cloud infra.
• Experience shipping network systems in production at large scale.
• Strong fundamentals: TCP/IP, UDP, WebRTC, and related video/audio protocols.
• Experience with wireless networking in mobile/embedded systems.
• Proven ability to write production-grade C++.

Responsibilities

• Own design and execution of core networking systems on the robot fleet.
• Lead architecture decisions and build core networking components.
• Collaborate with Cloud Infra and Apps to scale operations end-to-end.
• Define standards for reliability, performance, and simplicity at scale.
