Job summary

Symbotic LLC in Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Middleware Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of the middleware layer powering our mobile robots. You will own features, drive IPC, process management, and logging across robotic platforms.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Robotics, Engineering, or related field.
Experience building production-quality software in C++.
Strong understanding of Linux systems, process management, networking, IPC and system services.
Nice to Have Experience with ROS2 and DDS.
Experience with TCP/IP, UDP and other network protocols.

Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of middleware on our robotic platforms.
Design and develop middleware components for robotics systems.
Build and maintain logging, diagnostics, telemetry, and observability infrastructure.
Develop process management systems for launching, monitoring, restarting, and supervising robotic software services.
Design communication frameworks for reliable data exchange between distributed software components.
Deploy, validate, and troubleshoot software on physical bots and simulation environments.
