Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to advance robotics systems at scale. You will develop ML solutions enabling robots to perceive, reason, and act in real-world settings, leveraging open-source and internal models and optimizing for safety and robustness.

You will collaborate across research, controls, hardware, and product teams to deploy concrete robotic capabilities and contribute to scalable automation at Amazon’s facilities.

Qualifications

• PhD or 6+ years of applied robotics research.
• Proven track record in ML applied to robotics.
• Strong programming skills in ML languages.

Responsibilities

• Leverage state-of-the-art models for targeted tasks and robot embodiments.
• Conduct rapid experiments with reproducible results and solid engineering.
• Build benchmarks to profile performance, generalization, and failure modes.
• Contribute to data and training workflows incl. datasets and recipes.
• Write clean, documented code and maintain training infrastructure.
• Stay current with foundation models and robotics developments.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and hardware teams.
