Job summary

Merck in West Point, PA, seeks a Senior Robotics Engineer to lead automation development for regulated bioanalytics. You will set up end-to-end lab automation, troubleshoot, and design components for the clinical research environment, ensuring robust operations and on-site execution.

You will collaborate across teams, coordinate with vendors, and empower staff to transfer assays to robotic platforms while maintaining project timelines.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering or related field with hands-on laboratory automation experience.
• Proven ability to design, install, validate and operate robotic automation systems.
• Willingness to be on-site 100% at the West Point, PA facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation integration and instrument interfacing with vendors
• Develop and optimize liquid handling protocols and validate methods
• Coordinate vendor support to minimize downtime and maintain systems
• Maintain operations, troubleshoot, and optimize robotic platforms
• Coach teams to transfer experiments to robotic workflows
• Procure materials and support system builds and installations
• Develop installation, testing, and validation procedures
