Job summary

Mindscope seeks a Lead Robotics Technician to drive the end-to-end setup, integration, and commissioning of custom automation and vision systems in Brown Deer, WI. You will own the robotic cell architecture, calibrations, and PLC handshakes while mentoring shop staff on best practices.

Ideal candidates bring 4–6 years of hands-on robotics/PLC experience, multi-brand robot fluency (FANUC, Yaskawa, ABB), CAD/SolidWorks proficiency, and willingness to travel 30–40% globally for project installation

Qualifications

4–6 years of hands-on robotic and PLC integration experience.
Fluency with FANUC, Yaskawa Motoman, ABB robotics.
Experience with offline robot simulation software and CAD/SolidWorks.
Troubleshooting across robotic, electrical, fluid power, and mechanical domains.
Experience with Cognex or Keyence vision systems.
Engineering degree (2- or 4-year) and willingness to travel 30–40% globally.
Residence within 45 minutes of Brown Deer, WI.

Responsibilities

Start up robotic platforms from scratch, including setup, calibration, mastering, and I/O configurations.
Design robot programming architecture and handshaking with central PLCs and material handling platforms.
Lead full build and shop debug lifecycle to meet quality and cycle-time standards.
Lead mechanical and electrical assembly and troubleshoot complex control wiring.
Program and integrate vision systems for part guidance and inspection.
Assist Applications with build estimates and quotes; support documentation and mentoring.
