Job summary

Arm Limited seeks a Staff Robotics Engineer to design the software foundations connecting sensing, planning, control, and actuation for autonomous on-device operation. You will provide technical leadership across robotics architecture, platform integration, and developer workflows to build dependable Arm-powered robotics capabilities.

You will lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and contribute reference implementations, documentation, and tooling to advance the robotics ecosystem on Arm

Qualifications

• 6+ years designing and building robotics, autonomous systems, or embedded software in real-world settings.
• Strong knowledge of ROS 2 or comparable robotics middleware and patterns.
• Experience with coordinate frames, timing, synchronization, and sensor interfaces.
• Linux-based and real-time systems, concurrency, IPC, and distributed lifecycles.
• 3+ years leading architecture or integration across robotics stack components.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, numerical methods, and optimization.
• Ability to diagnose system behavior across apps, middleware, OS, and hardware layers.
• Excellent technical judgment, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement robotics software integrating sensors, planning, control, and actuators.
• Define interfaces and boundaries across autonomy stack, middleware, OS, and hardware.
• Lead production-ready reference platforms and customer demonstrations.
• Build APIs, SDKs, and reusable components for robotics development and deployment.
• Improve simulation, on-target testing, calibration, logging, and OTA updates.
• Create observability and diagnostic tools for timing, resources, faults, and behavior.
• Optimize latency, determinism, memory use, and throughput across CPUs and accelerators.
• Lead reviews, mentor engineers, and drive cross-stack issue resolution.
