Job summary

Wintermeyer Ventures in California is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a small robotics team developing climate tech. You will scale electrical systems for robotic platforms from R&D toward repeatable manufacturing.

You will design, test, and integrate wiring, motors, actuators, sensors, and PLCs; produce schematics and harnesses; and work closely with mechanical, software, packaging, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable systems for on-site production.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of electrical engineering experience with large-scale robotic, automotive, or similar physical systems.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with machine wiring, harnessing, and integration, in addition to circuit board or PCB work.
• Experience selecting and integrating motors, drives, actuators, sensors, and PLCs.
• Experience producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness designs using CAD tools.
• Background in a startup or fast-paced research and development environment, with engineering design experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and integrate electrical systems across deployed and in-development robotic platforms, including motors, drives, actuators, sensors, controls, and machine wiring.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness designs, and technical documentation.
• Work hands-on in the shop with technicians and engineers on wiring, installation, integration, testing, and issue resolution.
• Improve electrical subsystems based on evolving requirements and lessons learned, with a focus on reliability and manufacturability.
• Support the transition from individual research builds to repeatable production.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and hardware engineers to integrate systems across the robotic platform.
