Job summary

WSI seeks a Robotics and Automation Systems Engineer to drive automation deployments across the organization. This role spans fixed robotic systems, mobile/autonomous platforms, perception, localization, and integration with PLCs and WCS/WMS in live warehouse environments.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in robotics or related field and 3+ years of hands-on experience, strong C++/Python and Linux, and familiarity with safety standards. Travel to sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with industrial robotics/fixed systems and/or autonomous mobile robotics; strong depth in at least one domain with working knowledge of the other.
• Strong C++/Python skills and Linux experience.
• Understanding of industrial safety principles for human-robot shared environments, including ANSI/A3 R15.06, ISO 3691-4.
• Experience in logistics, warehousing, or industrial automation environments.
• Travel to assess opportunities and support initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Program, integrate, and commission robotic systems for palletizing, material handling, and related applications.
• Own perception, localization, and navigation for autonomous systems including LiDAR, SLAM, path planning, and obstacle avoidance.
• Integrate sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMU) and apply sensor fusion as needed.
• Integrate systems with PLCs, safety systems, conveyors, WCS/WES/WMS, or fleet-management platforms.
• Develop and maintain production-quality robotics software (C++/Python) and support diagnostics and telemetry.
• Support physical AI techniques for perception, decision-making, and adaptive behavior in coordination with specialists.
