Ilocatum in Pewaukee, WI is seeking a Lead Welding Engineer for Robotic Systems & Process Qualification. This supervisor-level role leads weld process development, WPS qualification, and quality compliance on automated welding projects.

You will mentor Robotic Welding Technicians, qualify WPS/PQR documents, review robot weld paths, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to meet customer and code requirements.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of welding engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge of GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, robotic arc, and laser welding.
• Experience developing, qualifying, and documenting WPS/PQR.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX codes.
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card; commuting distance to Pewaukee.

Responsibilities

• Lead Robotic Welding Technicians and mentor team members.
• Develop, document, and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and parameters.
• Evaluate fixtures, cell layouts, and welding processes for part access and repeatability.
• Investigate nonconformances and ensure code compliance on projects.
• Support project estimating with welding feasibility and cycle-time input.
• Assist with equipment integration and robot commissioning at client sites.
