Job summary

Synerfac Technical Staffing supports a well-established engineering client in Towson, MD, seeking a Transportation Project Manager with a PE license to lead roadway and highway design initiatives. The role focuses on managing multi-discipline teams across transportation infrastructure projects in the region.

The ideal candidate will have 8–12 years of relevant design and project management experience, proficiency in MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 8–12 years of experience in roadway/highway/traffic control design.
• Demonstrated project management experience on transportation design work.
• Proficiency in MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring junior staff is a plus.
• Prior involvement in proposal development and business development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct multi-discipline teams through the full lifecycle of transportation design projects.
• Act as the main point of contact between clients, outside agencies, and internal project staff.
• Coordinate technical resources and subconsultants across active projects.
• Build project budgets, pricing, and proposals for upcoming work.
• Create and manage project schedules and overall project plans.
• Run client meetings and present project updates.
• Conduct quality control reviews on deliverables before submission.
• Mentor junior engineers and support broader business development efforts.
