Job summary

ATCS is seeking an experienced civil engineer to lead roadway design projects in Virginia. You will oversee VDOT and municipal work from concept through construction, develop plans and MOT, and mentor junior engineers to grow the team.

Preferred 6+ years in roadway design with ORD/Civil 3D experience; PE license is a plus. The role offers a hybrid work environment and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 6+ years of roadway design experience, preferably in Virginia.
• PE license preferred; candidates licensed in other states will be considered with Virginia licensure commitment.
• Experience with MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD); Civil 3D experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of AASHTO, VDOT, and local design standards and practices.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 6+ years of roadway design experience, preferably in Virginia
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; candidates licensed in other states will be considered with a commitment to obtain Virginia licensure
• Experience with MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD); Civil 3D experience is a plus
• Knowledge of AASHTO, VDOT, and local design standards and practices
• Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills

Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $125,000 to $175,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 2% of the employee's annualized salary.
