Job summary

HDR, Inc. in South Carolina seeks a Senior Roadway Engineer to join the Transportation Group in Columbia. You will work on urban and rural highway projects, lead design efforts, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, sustainable mobility.

Ideal candidates have at least 10 years of roadway design experience, PE license, and strong leadership and communication skills. Local candidates preferred to support nearby projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of roadway engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer license (PE) required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, geometrical layout and CAD-based alignment plans.

Responsibilities

• Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on roadway projects.
• Oversee the work of CAD Designers and possibly EITs.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway projects.
• Participate from site feasibility analysis through final design and construction.
• Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
