Job summary

Precision Systems, Inc. is seeking a senior Highway/Roadway Design Engineer to join PSI full-time and lead roadway design and PS&E delivery for transportation infrastructure projects.

This senior technical lead will manage roadway geometry, civil/site design, drainage coordination, ADA compliance, MOT considerations, and interdisciplinary PS&E integration. The ideal candidate will have a PE license, 8+ years’ experience, and a proven track record delivering PS&E packages for public-sector

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.
• 8+ years of progressive roadway/highway design experience.
• Experience leading PS&E packages from concept to final design.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, MUTCD, ADA/PROWAG standards.
• Experience delivering roadway design for public-sector clients (FHWA, DDOT, VDOT, MDOT SHA).
• Experience coordinating with drainage, traffic, utilities, geotechnical, and survey disciplines.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent assignments.
• Ability to lead technical staff and maintain schedule/quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway/highway design for corridor reconstruction and multimodal projects.
• Prepare and oversee PS&E packages with plans, specifications, estimates.
• Develop roadway geometry, alignments, cross sections, and ADA improvements.
• Coordinate design with drainage, traffic signals, utilities, and other disciplines.
• Lead design progression to 30%, 60%, 90%, and final PS&E submissions.
• Provide technical direction to roadway engineers and CAD staff.
• Perform senior technical review and QA/QC of plans and quantities.
• Support client coordination, agency reviews, and comments resolution.
• Develop constructible, standards-compliant solutions in constrained settings.
• Support proposal development and technical narratives.
