Job summary

LJB Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a seasoned Roadway Design Engineer to lead design tasks for transportation projects.

A Bachelor's in civil engineering, a PE license (NC preferred), and 10–20 years of roadway design experience are required. You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with DOTs and clients, manage design-bid-build and design-build work, and help grow LJB’s national Transportation Practice from the Charlotte office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
• P.E. license required; North Carolina PE preferred; NC PE within the first year of hire expected.
• 10–20 years’ progressive engineering experience in transportation and roadway design.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway project design from preliminary to final design.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages.
• Coordinate with client staff, project managers, and DOTs.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead design teams.
• Lead design for design-build and traditional design-bid-build projects.
• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams and stakeholders.
