Job summary

LJB Inc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced Roadway Design Engineer to support and grow our Transportation Practice.

You will lead roadway design efforts from preliminary to final design and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient infrastructure. Required qualifications include a civil engineering degree and a North Carolina PE; candidates with 10–20 years of experience and DOT project exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
• NC PE licensure preferred; must obtain NC PE within first year.
• 10–20+ years of progressive engineering experience in transportation/roadway design.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway design tasks from preliminary to final design.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with clients and project managers.
• Lead design activities and ensure schedule and budget compliance.
