Job summary

Effingham County seeks a Roads & Transportation Engineer to plan, design, review, and manage roadway and transportation-related capital improvement projects and drainage work. The role reports to the Director of Engineering / County Engineer and oversees projects from concept through construction and closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• At least five years of progressively responsible related experience.
• EIT or PE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, review, and manage roadway and transportation-related projects.
• Prepare scopes, designs, cost estimates, schedules, bid documents, and budgets.
• Review drainage, traffic, and transportation-related aspects for projects.
• Support construction through submittal reviews, RFIs, field visits, and design issue resolution.
• Ensure plans comply with County, ADA, and GDOT requirements.
