Job summary

Williamson County Department of Infrastructure is seeking a Planner III to develop and plan transportation systems and asset management. You will generate, review and manage contracts and technical documents for roadway projects, and support budgeting and commission agenda items.

The role emphasizes GIS data upkeep, subdivision and land development review, public outreach, and coordination with municipalities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field and five years of planning experience with GIS and transportation planning; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Three years of subdivision and land development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Generates, processes and reviews contracts and technical specification documents for roadway projects.
  • Creates and reviews presentations and documents for strategic and technical planning.
  • Manages databases including GIS data and collaborates with the County Auditor’s Office.
  • Maintains and updates subdivision and development GIS data and systems.
  • Prepares bid documents and drafts terms for project agreements.
  • Assists in annual budget processes and capital project cost planning.
  • Coordinates meetings, public outreach and coordination with municipalities.
  • Performs pavement evaluations and analyzes data for projects.
  • Supports long-range transportation planning and GIS mapping tasks.
