Job summary

Williamson County’s Department of Infrastructure seeks a civil engineer to provide technical assistance on multiple projects. You will design street and drainage improvements, prepare detailed drawings and hydrologic studies, and review plans for regulatory compliance as part of a collaborative county team.

Under Texas supervision, you will communicate with the public and other agencies, assist field crews, and travel between sites as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
EIT certification or Master’s degree with ability to obtain EIT within fourteen months.

Responsibilities

Provide technical civil engineering assistance to support multiple projects under supervision.
Provide civil engineering designs for street and drainage improvements.
Produce detailed drawings and reports for street and drainage construction or improvements.
Develop hydrologic/hydraulic studies including flood plain analysis and culvert/bridge design.
Review subdivision plats and construction/site plans for compliance with regulations.
Assist public with development processes and permits; respond to inquiries.
Communicate with county employees, external agencies, and the public.
Travel between work sites as required; attend meetings and trainings.
