The City of Melbourne is seeking a Chief Operator to oversee the RO Water Treatment Plant operations. You will lead skilled staff, coordinate with the Water Distribution team, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage daily plant performance and reporting.

The role requires five years of RO plant experience, a Level B license, and strong leadership and communication skills to maintain a safe, reliable water supply for the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of RO plant operation and maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Minimum Level B Water Treatment Plant Operator License (Florida).
• Florida Class E driver's license; SEDA MOC certification or within 6 months of employment.

Responsabilités

• Supervises water production activities for RO plant operations and maintenance.
• Reviews project plans, assigns staffing/resources, and ensures compliance with specifications.
• Manages personnel matters including training, scheduling, leave, evaluations, and discipline.
• Maintains records and prepares performance/compliance reports for the Water Plant Director.
• Collaborates with Water Distribution Supervisor on flushing, pressures and residuals.
• Responds to emergencies and SCADA alarms; performs after-hours duties as required.
