Job summary

bp is seeking a Senior Principal Facilities Engineer to support operating Renewal Natural Gas (RNG) plants. You’ll lead plant modifications, work with in-house and contractor engineers, and ensure projects align with safety and performance KPIs.

The role involves guiding startup activities and long-term reliability across multiple sites. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in gas processing or related fields, with proven experience in ASME/API standards and complex repair scopes, and willingness to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years experience in natural gas processing, refining, petrochemicals or related field.
Experience applying engineering standards and practices for operating facilities (ASME, API).
Experience designing and overseeing minor mechanical modifications and/or major repair scopes.
Experience with gas processing equipment operation, maintenance, and performance.
Willing to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

Lead the creation of MOCs documenting plant modifications and upgrades.
Coordinate with 3rd-party engineering firms for deliverables.
Review and approve major submittals from 3rd parties.
Provide engineering input into operating, maintenance, commissioning, and start-up procedures.
Drive risk assessment for changes, from Hazard Checklist to HAZOP.
Ensure designs meet safety and long-term serviceability priorities.
Act as a resource for operators and technicians on RNG plants.
