Job summary

Moderna seeks a Senior Research Associate in the RNA Innovation team in Cambridge, MA. You will investigate how RNA modifications affect RNA metabolism, designing experiments with in vitro biochemistry and cell line methods to study mRNAs of interest. Strong initiative and collaboration are essential; sponsorship is not offered for immigration.

Qualifications

• MS in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Chemistry or related field with 2+ years experience; 3-5 years preferred.
• Knowledge of biochemistry/chemical biology of nucleic acids and RNA.
• Site-based role; in-person at Moderna Cambridge, no remote work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute methods to study modified mRNA stability and translation in cell lines and in vitro biochemistry.
• Apply RT/qPCR, chromatography, and mass spectrometry to analyze RNAs.
• Prepare Next Generation Sequencing libraries and protocols.
• Maintain cell lines, equipment, records, and lab spaces.
• Communicate findings to colleagues and collaborators.
