Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an Emeritus Registered Nurse (E-RN) at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. The program focuses on mentoring experienced RNs to transfer knowledge to new hires, supporting safety, quality, patient experience, and team engagement.

The E-RN will practice high reliability safety behaviors and provide just-in-time education. Responsibilities include mentoring, precepting, conducting unit in-services, and serving as unit expert for Epic EMR.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Rhode Island or Nursing Compact equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred; Associate degree with acute care or safety/quality experience will be considered.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to nursing team in safety, quality, patient satisfaction, and engagement under supervision of department leaders.
• Assigns and assesses tasks with unit leaders; mentors new nurses, residents, and orientees.
• Engages in unit governance, in-services, unit Epic EMR expert duties, and patient care coordination.
