Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System seeks a Registered Nurse for Jail Main Clinic. You will provide patient-centered nursing care per protocols and a multidisciplinary plan to stabilize patients and prevent complications.

The ideal candidate has a Texas RN license (or Compact), current BLS, and at least two years of nursing experience, with strong communication skills and ability to serve as Charge Nurse on rotation.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have two years of nursing experience.
• Must hold a current, valid RN license or temporary RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing; or a valid Compact RN license.
• Must have current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nurse Practice Act, established protocols, multidisciplinary plan of care and clinical area standards.
• Maintains patient advocacy, confidentiality, and collaborates with hospital staff and families to support patient-centered care.
• Completes documentation in patient care records timely and accurately; participates in information exchanges with nursing staff and other Parkland personnel.
• Serves as Charge Nurse on rotation as necessary and may act as a preceptor or trainer for newer nursing staff.
• Participates in in-service educational programs and community outreach activities as assigned.
