Job summary

State of Washington's Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) seeks a Registered Nurse 3 to oversee health services for youth in a secure juvenile rehabilitation setting at Echo Glen Children's Center in Snoqualmie. You will provide advanced clinical nursing care, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with professional standards.

You will lead health center operations, coordinate medical, dental, behavioral health, and substance use services, and integrate medical care with reentry

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Valid Washington State RN License.
• Three (3) years of professional nursing experience, including supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of NCCHC standards and juvenile rehabilitation operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health assessments, physical exams, and immunizations are completed within required timelines.
• Oversee medication administration processes, including controlled substances.
• Monitor infection control, chronic disease programs, and outbreak response.
• Develop, update, and implement nursing policies and procedures.
• Maintain staffing schedules and approve leave.
• Conduct evaluations and corrective action.
• Respond to facility medical emergencies, including trauma, overdose, or acute illness.
• Serve as a resource to staff in crisis situations.
• Coordinate off-site care and specialty referrals, and transport youth for medical care as needed.
• Lead continuous quality improvement efforts and integrate reentry-focused health care planning.
