Job summary
DC Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS) seeks a Clinical Nurse II to provide comprehensive nursing care to detained and committed youths within the Health Services Administration Division.
You will participate in an interdisciplinary team, develop and revise treatment plans, document services, administer medications, and coordinate discharge planning in a secure setting, with day and on-call duties as required.
Qualifications
- A graduate or higher level degree in nursing is required. Possession of a master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
- Or at least one year of professional nursing experience and a nursing degree from an accredited program.
- Specialized experience directly related to the position is required to meet the next lower grade level.
- Active, unrestricted DC nursing license and passing NCLEX are required.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to youth in a secure juvenile facility.
- Coordinate, plan, implement and evaluate a Plan of Care or Treatment Plan for clients.
- Document nursing services, medical care and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff.
- Administer medications and coordinate discharge planning with community resources.
