Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) II to provide professional nursing care to a diverse patient population in Houston. The role includes assessments, exams, treatment assistance, patient education, and medical record maintenance, while collaborating with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Twelve months of registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
• Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
• RN licensure in Texas or PSV Compact; must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days
• BLS and ACLS certifications per requirements
• NIHSS Stroke Certification within 4 months

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interprofessional health care team to plan and coordinate patient care.
• Provide direct patient care, assessments and education.
• Lead unit governance initiatives; serve as charge nurse or preceptor.
• Document care and maintain medical records; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Advocate for patient rights and ensure safety and quality of care.
