Responsibilities

• Delivers intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon(s) as a collaborative team member.
• Functions as a member of the surgical team and contributes to department efficiency.
• Monitors patient response and modifies plan of care accordingly; administers medications as per nursing practice.
• Participates in professional development and lifelong learning; contributes to peer growth.
• Provides patient and family education and ethical, evidence-based perioperative care.
• Recognizes safety-sensitive nature of role and maintains alertness at all times.
