Job summary

Baltimore/Washington Medical Center (BWMC) is seeking an experienced registered nurse for a full-time day shift. This role requires a minimum of 12 months of RN experience and an Associate Degree in Nursing, with a BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• An Associate Degree in Nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Maryland RN licensure required prior to orientation.
• At least 1 year of RN experience is required.
• Professional Certification is highly encouraged.
• Employees hired after 1 July 2018 must complete a BSN within 5 years of hire or transfer.
• If a gap in nursing experience is 5+ years, a refresher course within the past 6 months is required.

Responsibilities

• Independently provides and coordinates care for patients within a clinical specialty.
• Demonstrates and participates in unit governance with multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintains high standards of nursing practice and contributes to outcomes and cost effectiveness.
• Uses computer systems to manage patient information and documentation.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and the care team.
• Participates in development of clinical practice guidelines and unit education.
