Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Jail Central Release unit. The RN uses the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate care, coordinating with the health care team to prevent delays or complications.

The role requires a Texas RN license, current BLS certification, and two years of nursing experience. Shifts are days, 6am–6pm with rotations; responsibilities include precepting, directing non-nursing staff, and serving as Charge Nurse

Qualifications

Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Must have two years of nursing experience.
Must have current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license.
Must have current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from one of the following: AHA, Red Cross, Military Training Network.

Responsibilities

Maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers and serves as a resource for patients and healthcare team members.
Completes documentation with accurate and timely entries in patient care records.
Works with staff to provide direction to non-nursing personnel and participates in information exchanges to support department goals.
Serves as Charge Nurse on rotation and may serve as a preceptor or trainer for newer nursing staff.
