Job summary

Texas Oncology seeks a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) II to join the Texas Breast Specialists at Grapevine and Irving, TX. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5pm, with no weekends or major holidays, supporting both Grapevine and Irving locations.

Under supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care following national and company standards, participating in quality initiatives and ensuring compliance with the US Oncology program and ethics.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience.
• Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care with established standards.
• Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
• Provide teaching and instructional materials to patients and families.
• Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
• Manage medication refill requests and document in patient chart.
• Schedule consultations, pre-testing, diagnostics, referrals and future appointments.
• Triages patient phone calls and documents information in chart.
• Coordinate communication between patient/family and inter-disciplinary team.
• Assist patients in locating community resources.
• Collaborate with other professionals and support staff.
• Serve as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
