Job summary

Parkland Health is expanding with a 56-bed Medical/Surgical unit opening in October 2026, designed for high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment, featuring double-occupancy and private rooms to support diverse acuity.

This Full-Time Night shift (7P-7A) offers an $8,000 hiring incentive for eligible RNs; candidates must have 2 years of RN experience, current Texas RN license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have two years of nursing experience.
• Must have current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license.
• Must have current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA/ARC/Military Training Network)

Responsibilities

• Serves as a patient advocate, focusing on patient needs, rights, confidentiality, and cultural preferences.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines in nursing practice.
• Develops effective internal controls to ensure compliance with standards and accreditation requirements.
• Completes patient assessments, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary communication, with timely documentation.
• Seeks direction from more experienced staff and may serve as preceptor or Charge Nurse on rotation.
