Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks experienced Nav Mate Pilots to lead our U.S.-flag fleet on inland and coastal waterways across the East Coast, Alaska, Great Lakes, and major rivers. Nav Mates are senior watch officers responsible for safe vessel operations, regulatory compliance, and representing the company with professionalism.

The role includes daily vessel operations, logs and reports, and collaboration with hotel and culinary teams to deliver five-star guest service. A U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. Coast Guard Master’s license: 100 GRT min with Near Coastal endorsement; 1,600 GRT+ preferred.
• TWIC credential required.
• Experience on coastal and river waterways: 2–5 years; Z-drive experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and team-building skills.
• Pre-employment drug test and continual/random testing.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel.
• Operate the vessel in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Execute prudent maneuvering, docking, locking, and anchoring.
• Conduct daily inspections of all vessel spaces.
• Maintain logs, reports, and administrative records.
• Support hotel and culinary teams in delivering five-star guest service.
