Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks experienced Nav Mate Pilots to lead our U.S.-flag fleet. Nav Mates are senior watch officers responsible for safe vessel operations and representing the company as professional leaders.

This full-time onboard role requires a USCG Master’s license with Near Coastal endorsement, TWIC, and river/coastal piloting experience; you will train, inspect, and coordinate with hotel and culinary teams while maintaining logs.

Qualifications

• U.S. Coast Guard Master’s license: min 100 GRT with Near Coastal endorsement; 1,600 GRT or greater preferred.
• TWIC credential required for access to secure areas.
• Coastal and river waterways experience: min 2 years, 5 years preferred; Z-drive experience valued.
• Strong communication and team-building abilities.
• Pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random testing.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel.
• Operate the vessel in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Execute prudent maneuvering, docking, locking, and anchoring.
• Conduct daily inspections of all vessel spaces.
• Maintain logs, reports, and administrative records.
• Support hotel and culinary teams in delivering five-star guest service.
