Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA (onsite) seeks a Risk and Reliability Engineer to support DoD, IC, NASA, and other government customers. You’ll lead risk, reliability, and system safety analyses, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with program offices to inform senior decision makers. A security clearance and US citizenship are required, with travel ~10%.

Expect to work within MIL-STD-882E frameworks to assess hazards and improve space systems throughout their life cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, reliability, or systems engineering (or similar).
• 10 years of experience in risk, reliability, and/or system safety.
• Strong communication skills; teamwork and collaboration.
• Willingness to travel ~10% and ability to obtain security clearance (US citizenship).

Responsibilities

• Assist DoD, IC, NASA and other government customers with risk/reliability activities.
• Provide risk, reliability and system safety guidance and analyses for space systems.
• Lead small teams to deliver assessments and insights to senior decision makers.
• Support senior decision makers with risk-informed recommendations in a fast-paced environment.
• Serve as SME for multiple programs and coordinate with SMEs to deliver critical assessments.
• Contribute to shaping risk/reliability capabilities strategy for new space architectures.
