Job summary

Penn State Health is seeking a risk management professional to assess potential risk issues across the system, including consultation, investigation, assessment, and recommendations to decrease risk exposure. You will manage a portfolio of risk management projects and evaluate potentially compensable patient events to monitor clinical processes for safe care delivery.

Educational presentations to clinical staff and collaboration with leadership are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience (4 years)
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience required
  • CPHRM within three (3) years of employment in role (if applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Assess for potential risk issues across Penn State Health, including consultation, investigation, and recommendations to decrease risk exposure.
  • Manage a portfolio of risk management projects and evaluate potentially compensable patient events to monitor clinical processes for safe care delivery.
  • Provide educational presentations to clinical staff on opportunities to decrease risk exposure and present to leadership.
  • Partner with clinical areas to improve patient and staff safety and reduce clinical risk exposure.
  • Provide administrative support for the litigation process for claims and respond to claims history requests related to insured defendants.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, clinical or risk related discipline or equivalent experience
