Placements24 is seeking a Risk Management Officer for our Queenstown office in the Eastern Cape. The role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational, credit, market, and regulatory risks within a growing financial services environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Economics/Business Admin and at least 4 years in risk management, with strong knowledge of COSO, Basel, and SARB regulatory requirements. Excel proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or related field in financial services.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles, frameworks (COSO, Basel), and methodologies.
• Experience in risk assessments, mitigation plans, and monitoring KRIs.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., SARB).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive risk management policies and procedures.
• Identify, analyze, and evaluate potential risks across the organization.
• Design and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
• Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and report on risk exposures to senior management.

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
• Develop and deliver risk management training programs to employees.
