Job summary

HASI is seeking a Risk Professional to join our Portfolio Management team in Annapolis, MD. The Risk Professional will support the Risk Management and Modeling Team in monitoring HASI’s portfolio of climate‑positive projects and in underwriting new debt/equity investments.

The role ensures investments meet performance targets while managing overall portfolio risk. The incumbent will analyze project cash flows, evaluate credit quality of sponsors and counterparties, and prepare periodic risk

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of professional experience with 5–7 years in credit risk management or investing.
• Experience in energy/renewables sector preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or finance; advanced degree or CFA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support due diligence on new investments and identify key risks to mitigate.
• Perform variance analyses and sensitivities on project cash flows.
• Evaluate OFI/credit quality and monitor contractual risk exposure.
• Monitor sponsor and counterparty credit quality within HASI’s portfolio.
• Contribute to measuring portfolio performance and risk across assets.
• Understand deal documents, investment structures, and financial models.
• Support portfolio optimization initiatives to enhance returns and reduce risk.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for timely investment monitoring.
• Assist in preparing internal and Board materials.
• Support workouts, modifications, dispositions, and cross‑functional workplans.
