Job summary

Capital One's Risk Tech group seeks a Senior Full-stack Engineer 5 to lead a portfolio of distributed microservices and mentor engineers. You will build AI-powered risk management tools and cloud-based solutions to support regulatory needs.

You will collaborate with GRC partners, product managers, and architects to define roadmaps, drive end-to-end delivery, and ensure scalable, reliable systems using Java, Scala, Python, Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes and AWS services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related quantitative field
• At least 6 years of software engineering experience
• At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and virtualization tools

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full-stack systems
• Mentor other members of the engineering community and stay current with tech trends
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that drive customer value
• Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture and long-term tech direction
• Drive end-to-end design and implementation of large-scale, cloud-native systems with high reliability
