Job summary

EMC Insurance seeks a Senior Risk Control Consultant to address risk for Iowa and national clients. You will perform remote-capable risk assessments, conduct on-site surveys of moderately sophisticated operations, and prepare reports for insureds and agents.

You will advise on losses, trends, and coverage needs, collaborate with Underwriting, Sales, and Claims, and deliver training and ergonomic/hazard assessments. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering, industrial safety, fire protection or related field.
• Three years risk control or safety experience (five years for senior path).
• Certified Safety Professional preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site risk control surveys for policyholders' operations and analyze exposure.
• Prepare risk control reports and communicate results to insured and agents.
• Provide tailored consultation on operations, claims trends, and risk reduction.
• Collaborate with underwriting, sales and claims to improve renewal decisions.
• Deliver advanced training and on-site loss control surveys; ergonomic and hazard assessments.
• Develop written recommendations to control hazards and reduce losses.
