Job summary

The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) seeks a strategic, collaborative Principal Right of Way Officer within Real Estate and Property Management to drive complex acquisition, relocation, and property management for major transit projects. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Experience interpreting Federal/State regulations of right of way and related public sector real estate education is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in acquisition, relocation and property management activities for ESP and extension work.
  • Interpret and apply Federal and State right of way regulations.
  • Negotiate district leases and manage property issues and costs.
  • Develop policies for district assets and monitor legislative changes.
  • Prepare contracts and evaluate proposals for Board submission.
  • Coordinate market studies and disposition values for leases.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel and supervisors in project negotiations.
  • Lead or assist in staff training and performance reviews.
