Job summary

ERM seeks a Senior Right of Way Agent to support electric transmission and distribution projects in Richmond, VA, Raleigh and Charlotte, NC. The role ensures acquisition of land rights, licenses, leases, permits, and related documents for project development and operation.

Responsibilities include complex negotiations with landowners, determining fair market values, drafting rights of entry and related documents, and ensuring safety compliance. Regional travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Minimum 7 years of ROW experience, with at least 2 years in transmission project experience.
• Active real estate license preferred; notary public or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• IRWA membership a plus.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Earth, ArcGIS and data management software.
• Knowledgeable in real estate values and appraisal practices.
• Ability to travel regionally.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with land owners or designees on diverse and complex matters.
• Settle complex damage claims related to property during construction.
• Search courthouse and records to determine property ownership and interests.
• Assist in establishing fair market values for land and land rights.
• Draft or supervise preparation of documents for entry rights, damages, contracts, easements, leases, permits, and options.
• Comply with corporate health and safety policies.
• Perform additional duties as required.
