Job summary

Carowinds in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Electric/Controls Technician to maintain and upgrade ride control systems ensuring safe operations for guests and staff. The role covers troubleshooting, parts procurement, and coordination with multiple park teams to meet regulatory and manufacturer standards.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in industrial electrical maintenance, an associate degree in electrical repair, and the ability to climb and work at heights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1-2 years related experience in industrial electrical maintenance work.
• Themed amusement park experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and evaluates rides for proper function; investigates malfunctions and responds to daily trouble calls.
• Orders parts as needed for maintaining ride control systems.
• Ensures rides are maintained according to manufacturer, Six Flags, and state guidelines to ensure safety of operators and guests.
• Makes suggestions on improving or retrofitting existing ride control systems when obsolescence is detected.
• Coordinates activities with other departments and crews as necessary.
• Maintains control system software and stays up-to-date with newer versions.
• Performs annual preventative maintenance of ride control systems and prepares maintenance records.
